Kathryn is an experienced planning lawyer who acts on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious planning matters including providing strategic planning advice, dealing with complex S106 agreements, advising on highways, footpaths, village greens and assets of community value issues and compulsory purchase work.  She has advised on projects spanning the length and breadth of the UK in a diverse range of sectors including immediate and strategic housing, logistics, retail, leisure/sport and motorway services.

Kathryn is Legal Associate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and sits on the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group of the Compulsory Purchase Association.  She is identified as a Leading Individual for Planning legal work in both Legal 500 and Chambers.  She was included in the 2025 Legal 500 Hall of Fame. Delivering strategic advice to Peel across their portfolio of sites in the North West, including plan preparation advice, legal challenge work, ACV advice and S106 work.

Advising Extra on the planning and highway legal issues involved in the delivery of new motorway service areas on greenbelt sites across the country.

FO Developments

Advising a JV comprising Oldham Council, Seddon and Grasscroft Homes on the development of the Foxdenton site, a £100m mixed-use industrial and residential scheme on a 121-acre site in Chadderton, Oldham.

Signal Park

Advising a JV between Vistry and the Guinness Partnership on a 1,000 market and affordable housing scheme at Tolworth, Kingston upon Thames.

Northstone Developments/Taylor Wimpey

Advising on two complex S106 agreements needed to secure the delivery of a large residential allocation at Edenfield, Rossendale.

Ancoats regeneration

Acted for the acquiring authority through the Compulsory Purchase Order process for the regeneration of Ancoats in Manchester, acquiring nine listed mills  and transforming the area into a new vibrant living, working and leisure quarter in the city centre.

Stadium development

Acted for Islington Council in relation to all CPO and planning matters related to the relocation of Arsenal Football Club to the Emirates stadium, and also acted for the developer in the delivery of the CorpAcq Stadium (formerly Salford Community Stadium/AJ Bell Stadium) in Eccles, home to Salford Red Devils & Sale Sharks.
